Description of Duties:
Title: Staff Accountant
Classification: Nonexempt 
Salary Range*:  $29.00/hour - $31.00/hour 
Location: Van Nuys, CA 
 
DÔEN is looking for a dynamic and experienced Staff Accountant to join our growing team in Los Angeles. We are looking for someone  who takes pride in their work and is committed  to advancing equity and inclusion in their workplace. This position is  hybrid and will report to the Financial Controller. The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing various accounting duties and maintaining the accuracy and the integrity of the financial data. The Staff Accountant will provide analyses and reconciliation of assigned accounts, including bank reconciliations.  In addition, the Staff Accountant will assist with analysis and reporting of business results.  
 
Responsibilities
Support month-end and year-end closes, including assigned journal entries, balance-sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of operational management accounts.
Assist with preparation of financial statements and other related schedules for internal and external reporting.
Prepare bank reconciliations and credit cards reconciliations. 
Ensure all financial transactions within the company are accounted for.
Review and approve month-end and quarter-end sales and use tax returns.
Assist with the annual audit process and prepare necessary support schedules.
Manage Accounts Receivables for a growing wholesale division and partner with Sales and Operations departments with new customer set-up and creating new business processes.
Maintain and update records and reports for profit and loss, sales taxes, liabilities, and assets.
Prepare special financial reports, when requested by senior managers, by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
Analysis and reporting of business results.  
Preparation of any necessary ad-hoc financial/accounting analysis for special projects.  
 
Skills and Abilities
Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Knowledge of NetSuite is a plus
Excellent analytical and communication skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize effectively.
Detail oriented and accrued.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members  of different backgrounds and skill sets, cultural experience.
A high level of ownership and accountability.
Ability to work autonomously, takes initiatives and exercises discretion and good judgment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and client information.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Action oriented and results driven.
 
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
3+ years of experience as an Accountant.
1 year auditing experience in big four accounting firm a plus
Ability to work independently, lead initiatives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where adaptability and accountability are imperative.
 
Physical Requirements
Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodation.
Periods sitting at a desk, typing and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
