In the weeks leading up to the launch of a new collection, our co-founders, Margaret and Katherine, love taking the pieces they’re most excited about for a spin—packing them in their bags for vacation; wearing them to the office or out and about on weekends with their families. On a recent visit to our Brentwood Country Mart shop (and on a trip to Paris!), they test drove Fall’s dark florals, silk dresses and separates, and—in anticipation of the cooler months ahead—lofty knits and herringbone tweeds.
‘70s-Inspired Suiting
Primed to be the backbone of your fall uniform, the DÔEN Heirloom Duccio Jacket and Atherton Pant are rendered in wide wale Italian corduroy and reference Parisian suiting. We love their mix-and-match appeal.
Silks
Fall’s liquid silks were meant to be worn now and through the cooler months ahead. The Atta Turtleneck serves as a transitional dressing MVP, adding dimension when worn underneath the Obelia Dress or paired with our ‘90s-style slip skirt, the Elowen. Meanwhile, the Ciara Dress is a floaty silk georgette confection destined for evenings on the town.
Outerwear
Rich herringbone tweed acts as a fall-ready neutral, layering just as well over cashmere and merino wool as it does over silks—while a swingy, '70s-inspired trench with a detachable cape lends polish to any look.
Light Layers
The impossibly soft crewneck Marsena Sweater pairs well with a playful mini or a gingham pant for a transitional moment—or can be thrown over the shoulders for a pop of color. The silk twill Allene Dress can be worn on its own or layered over a turtleneck. And when it comes to our beloved Penny Bandana, the styling possibilities are endless—Margaret and Katherine love wearing theirs tied as a neckerchief.
