Echo Park Hills Living with Beatrice Valenzuela

If we chose one word to describe Beatrice, we could confidently say that there is no other person we know who so embodies the essence of Summer. She is vibrant color, elaborate cocktails, wild hair, travel, life lived outdoors and with other people. Hosted by Beatrice and her business partner Rachel Craven, the Echo Park Craft Fair started seven years ago in Beatrice’s backyard and has since evolved into a hugely anticipated bi-annual community event, featuring over 120 artists over a 2 day period. Her business is a family affair, selling clothing, shoes, and jewelry designed by Beatrice as well as brass and silver home goods by her partner Ramsey. I was once gifted the most beautiful golden acorn objet, only to be told by someone that it was actually made by Beatrice’s daughter Astrid (now eight years old) and Ramsey.

We were thrilled when, a few months after we launched DÔEN, Beatrice and Rachel invited us to join the roster of incredible artists and craftspeople that loyally make up the Echo Park Craft Fair season after season. I am even lucky enough to run into Beatrice during the week from time to time, sharing a quick hug when I catch her at factories downtown. Fix one of her Charred Grapefruit Mezcal Paloma cocktails and toast to summer! We hope you love the images of Beatrice and looking forward to seeing all of our west coast friends at the Echo Park Craft Fair this weekend!
