Paloma Jonas lights up the room with her warm, sunny personality, million dollar smile, and sweet Aussie lilt. I first met Paloma at my dear friend Amber's oil parties (Amber was one of our first Journal entries!). They go way back - from Australia to New York and now here in Los Angeles, where Paloma moved to be with her husband, Jason, and their Great Dane Vedder. Paloma is co-owner and founder of Valentine NYC, a lingerie company that makes the prettiest and most comfortable bras and panties. The goal of Valentine was to create sexy yet comfortable everyday pieces at an affordable price point - they hit the nail on the head. The Valentine website also has a super fun intimate stories section where they feature women + couples - asking the kind of questions we are all curious about but afraid to ask. It's addictive to read. As a part of DÔEN from the start, I've always looked up to women who start their own companies - paving a way for themselves to be creative and do something meaningful and true to their soul because, let's face it, it's hard! Paloma now does it all - running Valentine, mama to the sweetest 10-month old Bowie Banjo, growing baby #2 (a girl this time! in her second trimester), managing construction on their Beachwood canyon home, and modeling! It's amazing how women are capable of pushing themselves to the limit in all directions, yet have the grace, hospitality and caring love that Paloma does. I was so thrilled to spend the afternoon with Paloma and Bowie at their hillside home - so relaxing to experience the pure mama-son love between Paloma and Bowie.
