A Day Uptown with Lilly Sisto
We joined our friend Lilly Sisto for a Fall afternoon on the Upper East Side—sharing French fries at Orsay, wandering through Central Park, and taking in the first autumn chill. Along the way, she styled a handful of seasonal favorites—lace, plaid, and knitwear—finished with her signature mix of vintage bags and polished accessories.
How did you approach styling each of your looks?
I wanted everything to feel effortless and fun, mixing a polished romance with a rugged edge so the looks felt feminine yet easy to wear. A sheer lace dress struck a balance between dramatic and approachable, while lace-trimmed pants or a plaid skirt with an oversized sweater felt both classic and relaxed. Some of the pieces have a hint of Western or Americana influence, but when paired with tall boots or a great blazer they instantly feel very New York and ready for the city.
Ideal Saturday in the city?
A simple day at home: starting with a pilates class and a Ralph’s coffee to-go, followed by a long walk in Central Park, some shopping on Madison, and finishing with a cozy date night dinner.
Some of your favorite UES spots?
For the perfect nightcap spot for a martini, Bemelman’s Bar. I love the pasta at Caviar Kaspia, always with extra lemon and caviar. JG Melon has the best burger in the city, and I love a crispy chicken caesar wrap from Three Guys or Lenox Hill Deli. For sushi, Ikyu—order the crispy rice and spicy scallop rolls.
