We’ve brought up before in journal stories how motherhood ignited a fire inside both Margaret and me, giving us newfound strength and confidence and ultimately pushing us to found DÔEN. Not only did we crave a creative outlet that would allow us to serve the women who inspire us - natural, independent, empowered, forward thinking women who strive to make positive change - but we also wanted to somehow work to better our industry and, with the future of our children in mind, our world.

Violet is someone whom we have always admired and, above all, someone we have long regarded as being driven by the same impulse to constantly work towards a better present and future for our children. For Violet, this desire has led to co-founding The Glow, a cult favorite mother-centric site that candidly breaks down motherhood through thoughtful interviews with fellow mamas, and insightful features on all things motherhood. The dreamy aura of the site is enchanting and Violet's voice, whether on The Glow or on her Instagram, is as relatable as it is informative, exuding an intimacy and honesty that speaks directly to all women and mothers.

We feel so lucky to feature Violet and her sweet daughter Plum here on our Journal. Shot in the waning weeks of a never-ending summer in the Hamptons - their happy place during the warm months- both mother and daughter are nothing short of glowing. See below for images!
