Friendship and Backyard Afternoons with Annie Campbell

Friendship and backyard afternoons with Annie Campbell, photographed by Nicki Sebastian

My first memories of Annie Campbell date back to the mid-eighties. Annie was a fixture in my house growing up in Portland Oregon - our families became close and Annie was practically a third sister. Fast forward about 10 years to when Annie moved to Los Angeles and we picked up where we left off, it was as though no time had passed at all and we slid back into our close friendship immediately. Long chats on my porch with copious amounts of Rose ensued. She soon decided to pursue her true life passion: cooking, unique menu planning, party production, and design. To say that Annie is one of the best in the business would be falling short of her multi-faceted talents. Annie lives her life with passion every day and it is exemplified in the beauty of her work. Her magical parties are legendary!

Annie and I grew up together, have lived together, worked together for years and more recently become mothers together. Our mutual love of family and creating special holidays and experiences for our children has brought us closer than ever. We swap ideas constantly and she always inspires me with her creativity. I feel lucky we live just a few minutes apart and always know there is a perfectly cooked turkey on Thanksgiving or Santa Claus in front of her tree during Christmas waiting for us. I am ever thankful for her friendship, loyalty, and limitless imagination.
